TRAINING SCHEDULE:
Be A Mediator |
Martha's Vineyard Mediation Program is sponsoring a 32-hour basic
mediation training program Saturday and Sunday
March 13-14 and March 20-21, 2010
This program meets the basic mediation training requirements and
is designed not only for professionals interested in becoming mediators,
but those who wish to expand their job skills for business, town
commissions, educational forums, community/public service organizations
or simply family dynamics. The program combines a mix of theory
and practice, exercises, presentations, role play and hands-on skill
development with a variety of learning techniques that adapt to
individual learning styles. You'll be trained by highly-qualified
mediators with many years of training experience.
A small sampling of the topics covered - creating an environment
for mediation; facilitating communications; constructive listening
skills; dealing with impasse - which can be applied to conflicts
between neighbors; family members; couples; issues in elder care;
landlord-tenant; community, church, and school groups.
MVMP's mission is to encourage al residents of Dukes County, full-time,
part-time and seasonal - to resolve conflicts and build consensus
through mediation and other constructive dispute resolution tools.
We do this by providing education and outreach, as well as affordable
mediation services to the community and courts. We invite you to
join us in our mission by becoming a mediator today!
